Running a shooit-em-up style PvP game is infinatly cheaper than paying for the imagination and talent to thinnk up new content and keep it fresh! Trust me.... it's ALWAYS about the money. EVERYTHING is about the money! Again, who's pocket is this all gonna come out of.... Darned sure not the investors ya think? Certainly not the senior management salaries ya think?

This is the root of the problem. If you want to attract players to the game,
you have to make an investment. Its all about ensuring that the players you
attract offset your investment. If SOE seriously thought that ripping out
the engine (which I think is a more complex and expensive job to do) just to
appeal to the WoW generation would earn them revenue, they are sadly
mistaken.

The fact that the NGE was a complete hash when introduced (uber-fast
animations, uber-lag, classes not working properly and broken quest lines)
only served to inflame the situation. I stayed on for about a month after
the NGE, but for me the game became very boring and monotonous. The only
thing my characters had left to do was just shoot things, which is so
restrictive compared to what they used to be able to do.

We will never see SWG as it should be. The most we can hope for is a sequel,
hopefully under different management...

Tell you the truth, I am not sure I would play another of his games. That's kinda how I feel too. Even if they did roll it back, I would bevery hesitant to return, even as bad as I want to.

No. I am talking about playing another game that this lead developer
has ANYTHING to do with.

He damned near ruined UO and HAS ruined SWG. He is an egotistical
jackass that could care less what the paying public wants so to hell
with him!

Wasn't that EXACTLY the same what happened with the CU before? Fire up an
unfinished game?
