Default Stuck on Legend for PSP

Currently on an Island off the East Coast of Russia working and got the
PSP to relieve the boredom (it's an alcohol and English speaking TV
free workplace/camp). Getting on well with TR Legend but struggling to
get past this water level. I see the shiny things I have to swim down
to to pull and manage to pull them but have still stuck at this for
over a week. I realise they have something to do with water flowing in
and/or out but I'm stumped. I've two more weeks to do here and this is
driving me up the wall. I must be doing it in the wrong sequence or not
noticing the effect they're having elsewhere. Unfortunately I have no
access to walkthroughs as our client's network filter "Websense"
firewalls out anything with a "Games" category so any help on this
would be greatly appreciated and may actually keep me from going postal.

If you are referring to the Africa level where you have to open water
gates and if the PSP version is the same as the console versions then,
read on.

You have to hop into the water, make your way to the other side of the
partition (wall) by grappling the floating barge. Grapple the pillars
to move yourself along. There's one pillar on each side of the
partition.

When you get to where the barge takes you hop off onto the landing
area. Climb your way to the top of this huge room and around,
eventually, to a statue looking device with arms raised upward. There
are two platform that must be rotated - one with a large crate on it.
When these platforms are fully rotated the arms of the statue device
are freed so that you may grapple the center object of the statue
pulling it outward allowing the arms to lower.

There are two pressure switches, one for each arm restraint. The first
one you come to, after activating it, will drop a large crate. You will
then be able jump to the other platforms and make your way to the far
platform that has the second switch and a block that can be positioned
on the switch. After putting the block onto the switch one arm
restraint will be opened. Now go back to the first switch, stand on it
to fully rotate the platform opening the other arm restraint. There is
no block to keep this switch activated and don't bother trying to
grapple the center of the statue while standing on the switch, It has
to be pulled outward rather than from the side. Instead get off the
switch, allow the platform to rotate to its original position and then
quickly jump to the statue platform, grapple the center device pulling
it outward and watch as a cut-scene ensues.

If this is the big round room with four shiny switches underwater, then
they are timed. You have to pull them all in quick succession, or the
room won't drain.

Hope that's the right hint.

jvm

That looks like the one! I'll have to be a lot quicker that I have been
up until now - I just keep running out of air ! I feel some swimming
practice coming on.

Thanks a lot. Much appreciated, you may have prevented a lot of violent
deaths.

That's not the one but thanks for taking the time and trouble to
respond - I'm sure this will come in handy at some point ! See below
for the solution.

Not sure if it's the same on the PSP but on the console version if you keep
tapping the green triangle button as Lara swims she swims faster. When you
surface for air don't wait for the blue bar at the top of the screen to fill
completely, just let Lara take a couple of gasps and then dive down again.
Doesn't matter if she is short of air as she pushes the last button because
the game goes to a cutscene immediately afterwards and so she doesn't have
to surface again.
