Default Trade advisor during trade with other leaders

In CivIII there was this nice guy in the upper right of gthe screen who told
you if the other leader would like or dislike the proposal you're creating
("they probably will take this offer as an insult", "we're getting close to
an agreement" etc). Now, I have read on this NG that in CivIV I should hover
the mouse pointer over the image of the other leader to know what he/she
thinks about my offer: I tried this in many ways but I always get the popup
telling me about my relationship with that Civ (trade for xx years, rigth of
passage for xx years, religion...) , always this popup. Also if I select
things on both sides (theyr side and my side) I still don't get anything
else than that usual popup describing the relationship bewteen our 2 Civ's.
Is there something I'm missing? How can I get back my trade advisor's
advices?

I just ask the person I'm trading with if' they'd accept it,
or ask them what they would offer/like in return.

I think it's an improvement on Civ III; you don't have to do all that
dickering.

"What will make this deal work" will balance the trade so you know how close
you are.
In fact "What will make this deal work" makes knowing how close you are
kinda obsolete.

In Civ IV, you *can* dicker to a certain degree, but it tends to give the
other civ a lower opinion of you.
