Unfortunately we have .civ2 and .civ3 groups. Killing a usenet group is effectively impossible. (Look over the group list someday--you'll find a lot of groups that are spelling errors.)
|
I know. I meant that it would make sense to have one newsgroup for all civ
discussions instead of founding a new one every time a new version of the
game is relased.

alt.games.micropose.civilization already exists, but nobody is using it, so why add to the clutter with a yet another new group that doesn't get used? Right, better go on with this nere ng. The dream would be to rename this NG, but dreams are not available on usenet
|
I'm comofrtable with that, provided some genius doesn't go off and found a
new group called alt.games.civ4. And then, in a few years, alt.games.civ5
and so on ad infinitum.

It may exist on your server, but it doesn't exist on mine, nor onany other major server that I know of (save Google, and they're broken intheir own ways). If a group gets added to the Big-8, though, it will behighly visible on all well-configured servers for years to come.
|
I can see 4 general-purpose Usenet servers. All 4 carry
alt.games.microprose.civilization.
