The Faire is vastly worth it compared to the Argent Dawn grind - unless you are exalted with AD (which is a *massive* grind) the epic necklace from them will take a heck of a lot more work than the Darkmoon one does, and I personally think Darkmoon is better. It certainly is for a rogue and currently it is for a hunter too (it probably won't be when TBC comes as the attack power to agility ratio will change for hunters then)
Both you and Alphawolf have refered to the Attack power to agilityratio changing in the BC -- is there a particular reason why huntersare being nerfed so much? I was under the impression that hunters arefairly balanced now after all the talents have been reviewed. Is it a problem with scaling perhaps? a L60 hunter is balanced, by atthe same rate of advancement a L70 hunter will pwn all due to agilbonuses?

Could be, also a lot of the new talents give increased agility, plus I
think they want to improve the amount of damage done by weapons. From all I
can see overall it's not a nerf, it's just different to before, but it'll
take some getting used to. Will make things easier for me personally
however, using the same calculations for my hunter as for my rogue is nice
and simple ;-)

FYI, I see the Darkmoon amulet as an achieveable goal in the shortterm, AD rep will take quite a bit longer to complete.

Agreed, I completed the Darkmoon amulet while levelling through my 50s,
while I'm still not exalted with Argent Dawn (having been 60 since
January!) and just the work to get the 18-slot bag was enough of a grind
that I won't bother with the epics.

They are not being nerfed. You don't know much about all the changes so
please don't try to guess.
just some changes from the top of my mind:
1 agi = 1 RAP
Bows/guns get about 10% more DPS
agi/crit ratio gets better for hunter (rogue level I think)
talent changes should give more base DPS also

AFAIk they just wanted to change the way hunter look for their items on
the one hand and de-emphasize the importance of agi in general ( agi
gives armor, dodge, crit, AP/RAP depending on class, while Str gives
only AP and some block value when using shields).

Once you are lvl 55ish go to Easter Plaguelands and farm Monstrousbats. Evil bat eyes drop and higher % of rugged leather. Which you canmake armor kits out of. I did this in about 10 hours straight farming. Not to dishearten you but you have to farm to get this item or pay highprices in the AH. I think you need 3200 rugged leather just to make thearmor kits required. Just to give you an idea of what you're up against.
My warlock tried the bats as well as the scorpids. The thing is there was usually more travel time between bats in a given area and I didn't notice the eyes being any more frequent drops than the blood. The scorpids were quicker to move from one mob to the next. Plus they don't fear and silence like the bats do, which is pretty annoying as a caster. For both cases, bats and scorpids, don't neglect picking up the gray body parts they more frequently drop. Scorpid claws and bat pelts vendor for a nice sum when you get stacks of them. I believe a full stack of scorpid claws sells for 1.5g. Gnuthulhu, Undead Warlock Fthagn, Undead Warrior Rhyleya, Troll Hunter Wydefoote, Tauren Shaman Thunderhorn,US Remove your coat for email.

Agreed but scorpids being skinned end up being scales 30% of the time
so Bats was the way to go for me.

Here are some more, also off the top of my head:
Aimed Shot resets shot timer
Arcane Shot does more damage and scales with ATP
Traps are usable in combat but have a 30 second cooldown

Hrm... I know I'm forgetting some others, but those are the ones I
could think of that you didn't mention.
