Default Germany v England u21 playoff

0-2 FT, England go through to the u21 Euros next summer 3-0 on
aggreagate.

two cracking goals from theo walcott in the last 10 minutes, wouldn't
mind but he'd only been on the pitch for 5 minutes when he scored the
first!

frankly, it was a poor performance from england, they struggled to
keep possession, but looked good when they managed the odd break
forward. i guess they were lukcy that germany just couldn't find that
finish, otherwise it could have gone to ET.

plus, despite sending off the german sweeper early on, the ref seemd
determined to make up for it for the rest of the match, with some
baffling decisions going germany's way, including a dubious penalty
(which germany missed)

ah well, they defended solidly enough, didn't look too bad at the
back. work on keeping the ball a bit better (something the seniors
need to do too tbh) and they might have a chance next summer.

Very encouraged by wallcotts goals, at the moment though for just one match
i would like to pit the u21 team against the full first team and see the
outcome. Their work ethic is far better than the first team and most of them
actually want to be playing in an england shirt. Would be interesting match
if it were ever to happen.
