Default Gamestop screwed people over

Months ago I, as I'm sure many others did gave Gamestop their e-mail address
for information about pre-ordering PS3. They never sent an e-mail back but
yesterday made PS3 available for pre-order at Gamestop outlets. How did
people find out about this.

Likely reading websites like Gamespot and blogs like Joystiq.

One of the managers at the EBGames store I visited yesterday cited the
Gamespot news article on the PS3 preorders (which was posted to the site
late Monday night) as the reason that their PS3 allocation pre-sold
quickly, and suggested to those who plan on preordering the Wii to keep an
eye on Gamespot for any announcements to that effect.

yeah, it was rumored about two weeks ago... from someone that said they
worked for gamestop.

But we all knew it wouldn't be many. I think Sony is keeping the bigger
numbers for the big chains.

I did receive an email from ebworld saying that Tuesday would open
preorders. Sadly, I already had an appointment for Tuesday so couldn't
go there to preorder. I went at lunchtime to check and they said they
had preorders available until like half an hour after store opened
