Months ago I, as I'm sure many others did gave Gamestop their e-mail address for information about pre-ordering PS3. They never sent an e-mail back but yesterday made PS3 available for pre-order at Gamestop outlets. How did people find out about this.

One of the managers at the EBGames store I visited yesterday cited the
Gamespot news article on the PS3 preorders (which was posted to the site
late Monday night) as the reason that their PS3 allocation pre-sold
quickly, and suggested to those who plan on preordering the Wii to keep an
eye on Gamespot for any announcements to that effect.
