Can anyone tell me how to embed a working URL link (to a webpage) inside a post? many thanks!
|
Just add the URL as text, most Usenet clients will pick up the stringand convert it to a clickable link. Just make sure there is a space infront and behind it, else other characters could get attached to theurl and make it fail.
|
To help people with older usenet clients, it's still good behaviour to
enclose the url like this: <url>, most clients will then show the link
unbroken.

There is also a way to send HTML encoded messages, but that is heavilyfrowned upon in text based newgroups (like this one) where plain-textis the way to go...
|
Indeed, because it's actually a violation of the usenet standard.
PS, thanks for the link to your guild in your sig., I'm considering
making an application for my priest.
