At any rate, the upshot of this all was that I really haven't hada lot of fun in the guild with my cleric in ages; never get expgroups, raids at the high end tend to be very repetitive, most ofmy old friends have left for other guilds or quit the gameentirely... between the two conversations I realized that Ireally didn't want to be in the guild anymore at all, seeing thetimes I logged in on a guild character as a chore rather than awelcome bit of fun and comradeship. Good for you. I'm betting you are going to have a lot more fun. I hate it when playing is a chore.

Yep, been there done that. I have left two guilds, one, due to mass
migration to DAoC, the second due to politics that were causing playing
in the guild to get to be very much a chore. I was an officer in the
second guild for a while, and stepped down due to the politics, and then,
sometime after that, left the guild because things just never changed. I
miss a fair number of good friends still in the old guild, but, I do not
in any way miss the crap that seemed to go down far too often.
