Where do I Download CD image of quake 3?
I've been a long time fan of quake 3 and quit playing for some time.
Just recently I wanted to start playing again but unfortunately my CD is
scratched.
I had to reinstall my OS because my HD crashed and now I can't reinstall
Quake 3.
Is there any place where I can download the image of the game?
I already have a license, all I need is an unscratched CD that I can install
quake from.
Anyone know if id will exchange my scratched CD or is there any place where
I can just download the image of the CD and burn it to a cd using nero?

I believe you can get a replacement from id or Activision; at least, you
used to be able to, not sure they'll still do so with such an old game.
Alternatively you can probably get hold of a fresh copy for a few
pounds/dollars/euros/whatever your local currency is <g>

It's been posted to newsgroups, but it was about a month ago. You will need
access to a server with very good retention.
alt.binaries.ftd, a.b.ftn and a.b.games all have it.
You can probably pick one up on ebay for $5 or so

I don't think I want to spend some $$ on ebay or anywhere else.
And the ISO version I've downloaded from file sharing appz is the hacked
version that lets you play without a CD KEY.
I already have the CD and a KEY, what I need is the ISO on the CD because my
CD is scratched.
where can I find the alt.binaries.ftd and a.b.ftn and a.g.games newsgroups??
i'm using newsgroups provided by verizon, I'm new to newsgroups.
Any help will be appreciated, I'm going to contact ID software and see if I
can get help from them.

Hm, then you'd better get a CD-fixing package and hope for the best. If you
think about it you'll spend about the same money on that as a replacement
CD, yes?
