Annoying feature in Civ IV
In all earlier versions of Civ, if your country was invaded the comoputer
centred on the invading troops. Now you have to chase around the map lookign
for them. I call that *very* annoying, and they should do something about
it.
Another frustrating item is that if you work with something in or around a
city and finish it, you may then want to do something else there, the but
game immediately moves you to the next unit instead of waiting for you to
press the "c" button. That's a bit trying too.

In the options set it to show enemy moves and
you'll see them coming. As for the other, hit
the backspace key to go back to the last unit,
which puts you back in the area you wanted to
do that other thing. Feel better now?

I have the options set to show enemy moves already, but I'll try the
backspacing thing.

More very annoying things.......
1) Finding a city when you have loads - The mini map sometimes helps but not
always.
2) Re fortifying 200+ Mech inf's after upgrading all your infantry in 1 hit.
3) Loosing a battle when odds are given as 98% plus.
4) Building a missionary to find it fails to spread a religion.
5) The other half moaning you spend too much time playing Civ4!

I could accept this if you lost 2% of the time but that
doesn't appear to be the case.

Can't say that bothers me, I've never really looked into why
it fails, in my last game two cities (both only had one
other religion - took ages to spread to, whereas many others
with the same 1 regligion took one attempt.

Yes, they should have kept the help feature called "Where the heck is...?"

Yes, indeed. It drives me nuts.

Yup. "I can capture this city - I have three axemen and each has an 80%
chance to beat that single barbarian archer." And then, all three axemen die
miserably. Similar things have happened so often that I do think something
is wrong with they way battle results are decided.

Well, that's a chance you take when you send it to a city that already has
at last one religion. It's disappointing but part of the game; the manual
warns about it.

|
It wouldn't be hard. Two automation modes: One that tries to spread
it to the biggest city of yours that doesn't have it and doesn't have
another missionary heading for it, a second that tries to spread it to
the biggest city in the world that the missionary can reach. These
should also be availabe as a special type of rally point so you can
just set a city to pumping them out and ignore it.

Did you try to click the "MOVE (all units)" button and then right-click on
the units, to exit movement mode, and then click on the second button on the
toolbar (Zzz or the 'fortify' shield)?
It should work. Or is this a particularly bitchy situation?
