Default FPS with new PC

Hi All-
Since the traffic here is so high, thought I'd post something just for the
heck of it.
I've had 2 replacement PC's in the last several years at work. This most
recent one is a 3.6 ghz with a 256 meg PCI Express card. But my framerate
was sucking big time. Trying all the tweaks and changes I could got me from
35 FPS to 75. So I kept checking things in the config file and
removing/changing stuff. I finally found what seems to be the bottleneck and
now I get 130-150 fps. This line was in my config file (carried over from
who-knows-when):

set gl_ext_swapinterval "0"

When I changed this to the two lines below the framerate doubled.

set gl_ext_swapinterval "1"
set gl_swapinterval "0"

From http://f176.planetquake.gamespy.com...s/cmd.html#give these are
described as:

gl_ext_swapinterval
Default: 1
Values: (Toggle)
Description: Setting this to "0" will disable the use of the gl_swapinterval
command upon the next vid_restart.

gl_swapinterval
Default: 1
Values: (Integer)
Description: This is the time delay between frame swaps so long as
gl_ext_swapinterval is enabled. For fastest performance, set this to "0"

So I don't know if this will help anyone but id did me.

Glock

P.S. - See you on Urban Warfare server.................
