The objective of the game is to incite revolution not rob banks. This interests me.

This worries me. ;o)

I've been playing this game and I'm not impressed at all thus far.

Yeah, I kind of agree. The objective of the game isn't really to incite
revolution, it's to follow the onscreen prompts in a timely manner and
do whatever bit of mayhem you're asked to do next. I like the more
realistic 'Far Cry' style visuals (although I'm going to need a better
pc to play it on), but the AI and weapon balance is laughable. I just
stood in the middle of a platoon of government troops trying to work
out how to switch weapons, while they shot at me from all sides. Slowly
my health bar went down, as I turned, switched from fist to gun to dual
wield, whereas each shot I fired took a guard out in one.
Except for the target boss, of course - I emptied clip after clip into
his face from point blank range, with nothing happening (to be fair, he
was doing the same to me).
The selling point is the freeform gameplay, where you can use any
method of transport to achieve your aim. In reality (in the demo,
anyway), using anything but the predetermined vehicle will result in
mission failure because of the time limits involved. The same is true
of GTA for the most part, of course, but that somehow manages to make
the limitations fun. This was just annoying - back to last checkpoint
yet again. ho hum.
Fantastic graphics engine engine, though.. I'd love a real game to be
overlaid on that island.
