Default proc rates for augments

Do augments adjust themselves to the weapon they are put on to force the
same procs per minute regardless of weaponspeed, or do faster weapons make
them proc more?

I'm guessing they work the same as any other proc (weapon proc,
spell-buff proc), i.e., the proc has a certain rate that it's
supposed to achieve, and the chance of a proc on any given
swing is automatically adjusted based on how many swings per
minute you're getting (based on weapon speed and haste/slow).
So the number of aug procs per minute, on average, should be
the same regardless of the weapon.

Hm, I just had a related thought. How do procs work when you
have double-attack skill? Is it possible to get a proc on both
swings of a double-attack, or is the extra attack not eligible
for a proc? I think it may be that the proc rate is adjusted
based on your SINGLE attack rate (weapon speed and haste), but
bonus attacks have that same proc chance and thus can raise the
average. I say this because people have described tactics that
involve getting weapons to proc on ripostes. Still, I don't
know for sure whether you can get extra procs via double-attack.

Some weapons have proc rate mods which increase or decrease the rate of
any proc on the weapon. Augs placed into a weapon inherit the proc rate
mod of the weapon and hence will proc at 2ppm by default (primary hand,
average dex, no CE, no WA aa)

Note, only one proc is fired, even if a weapon has multiple procs they
are checked in order and as soon as one fires, no further checking is
done that swing.

Unless things have changed very recently, weapons don't proc on
ripostes.

Ah, my mistake. I was thinking of the tactic of using Earthshaker
(a weapon that procs a point blank AE), getting it to proc multiple
times, hitting ALL opponents on EVERY proc. But I just looked that
up again, and it seems the tactic involves a Rampage disc, not an
auto-riposte.

Thanks for clearing that up!
