Default Why the excitement over Gears of War?

I've seen the footage, the demos, the screenshots, read the blurb - but
I fail to see what the excitement is about?

Sure, it's pretty, but it pales next to the 1st gen games being sold
alongside the PS3 this November.

It's also very short, and of very limited demographic appeal.

Furthermore, why the excitement over yet another Halo FPS? Far better
FPSs have been made, and one of them is to be launched alongside the
PS3. Luckily, the success of the PS3 does not hinge across blatantly
adrenaline soaked testosterone fuelled killing fests like these.

Lair, GT:HD, War hawk, MGS4, Resistance: Fall of Man, Motor Storm,
Virtua Fighter 5, Tekken 5.
They are just a few shining examples, and all of them EXCLUSIVE.

This is why the PS3 will dominate. GAMES.

The problem is, you're an idiot. It doesn't matter which fake name you
post under, your ignorance always shines through.

Nice try, The Artist Formerly Known As
Dreamcasted/CrazyFool/DiscReadError. Strike One: Gears of War is not
an FPS. Strike Two: what makes GoW any more limited in demographic
appeal than any of the games you named? Especially Virtua Fighter 5,
which is primarily geared towards the fighting game crowd. Strike
Three: you spend hours making repeated posts about THINGS YOU DO NOT
LIKE, making you a moron for WASTING YOUR GODDAMN LIFE. Of course,
this could simply be a method to try to harvest more emails for
spamming, in which case that makes you a scumbag.

Now go home and get your shoe shine box.

I have absolutely no idea what fantasy you are alluding to, but
whatever it is, I have no involvement.

TPS then. It matters little. It's guns and death.

Now now, I'm comparing a broad range of games that are launching, and
are stunning, alongside the PS3.

The games I have mentioned for the 360 are very very limited in their
demographics.

I seem to have struck a raw nerve here. Strike one to me.

And the big deal about Resistance is what, that the Playstation finally
gets a decent first person shooter? What is the big deal about
Resistance? Is it a Halo-Killer? Why is it even better that Gears?

Anyhow, I changed the punctuation and made it highly appropriate:

Yep, "blatantly adrenaline soaked testoserone fuelled killing fests".

That's the spirit, keep trying to convince us otherwise! I've got to
hand it to you- few others have mastered the art of multiple
personality disorder in service of trolling.

And then you mention Resistance as being a "great launch title".
What's that game about, sunshine and smiles?

You mentioned one game, you moron.

Nice non-reply. Apparently your unique superpower is the ability to
sling a cliche as a diversion.

It looks like you ARE Dreamcasted- same vague stench of racism. It's a
reference to Goodfellas. Funny......I'm not the one who automatically
thought of black people when talking about shoe shine boxes. You
better run to the cleaners- I think your KKK hood just got out of dry
cleaning.
